Certification Process

Certification Process:  Ethics Requirement and Final Application

Once you have successfully passed the CRAA® Exam and completed the Education and Professional Requirements, you are ready to apply for CRAA® certification. To do this, access the CRAA® Certification Application through your online CRAA® Candidate Portal. As part of your final application, you must fulfill the Ethics Requirement by agreeing to adhere to and uphold RPII's Code and Principles of Professional Conduct.

How to Complete the Ethics Requirement and
Apply for CRAA® Certification

To obtain the CRAA® designation, you must first pass the CRAA® Exam and complete the Education and Professional Experience Requirements. Following these steps, you can proceed to submit the final application, which includes attesting to the Ethics Requirement.

Complete the CRAA® Certification Application

Log in to your online CRAA® Candidate Portal to start your application. In the application, you will need to attest that you have met the Education and Professional Experience Requirements. Additionally, you must agree to accept and abide by all terms and conditions of CRAA® certification, including any amendments made over time. Your CRAA® Certification Application will include the Ethics Declaration.

Fill Out the Ethics Declaration

The Ethics Declaration signifies your commitment to RPII to uphold the Code and Principles of Professional Conduct. This section includes prompts requiring you to disclose any potential violations of these standards. All certificants must complete the Ethics Declaration annually, both for initial certification and as part of ongoing certification. Completing the Ethics Declaration in full will satisfy the Ethics Requirement.

Allow RPII Time to Process

Before submitting your application, you will need to provide payment for both the non-refundable application fee of USD 100 and the pro rata certification dues for your first certification period. The certification dues of USD 249 are prorated based on the remaining months in RPII's full-year Certification Period, which runs from June 1 to May 31. Processing times may vary; however, RPII typically reviews certification applications within 15 business days of submission. If there are any questions about your application, we will contact you by email.

Leadership by Example: Understanding the Ethics Declaration

In the real assets industry, maintaining a strong reputation and ensuring the sustainability of our built and natural environments rely on core principles: integrity, honesty, competence, and sound judgment. At RPII, we are committed to these values in both our everyday actions and professional conduct. We firmly believe that the most ethical course of action is always in the best interest of the public.

To satisfy the Ethics Requirement, you must attest to your adherence to the high ethical standards and professional requirements outlined in RPII's Code and Principles of Professional Conduct. The Ethics Declaration includes questions designed to prompt you to disclose relevant information about your professional conduct. It is essential to answer these questions truthfully and in accordance with the Code and Principles of Professional Conduct. Except as specified by CRAA® Program policies or agreements, all information disclosed to RPII will be treated as confidential.
