About the CRAA® Exam

Your Exam Score

After completing the CRAA® Exam, you will receive a preliminary result indicating either "pass" or "fail." Additionally, you will get detailed feedback on your performance in each fundamental topic covered in the CRAA® Program Curriculum. Your exam result is determined by your total score across all sections, compared to the Minimum Passing Score established by the RPII Board of Directors and its advising committees.

Scoring and Interpreting Your Exam Results

The CRAA® Exam is scored on a "pass" or "fail" basis only. Preliminary results will be available to you immediately upon submission of the exam. Approximately three to five weeks after completing your exam, you will receive a notification from RPII indicating that your official exam results are available, along with instructions for the next steps. Please note that RPII does not charge for providing your exam results and will never disclose official results via phone, text, or facsimile transmission.

After the Exam

More About Your Score

Along with your official results, you will receive a feedback report detailing your performance across each topic domain of the CRAA® Program Curriculum. Note that there is no separate passing score for individual knowledge domains. The report will highlight your strengths and weaknesses relative to the points available in each topic area. This information can help you focus your studies for future learning or decide whether you need to retake the exam. However, you will not receive a tally of questions answered correctly or incorrectly.

The CRAA® Exam is scored solely on a "pass" or "fail" basis, reflecting your overall mastery of the CRAA® Program Curriculum. RPII does not provide additional interpretations of your performance beyond whether you have met the Minimum Passing Score. To prevent inappropriate comparisons of individual scores to aggregate results, RPII does not release specific exam scores.

Minimum Passing Score

Understanding the Minimum Passing Score

The CRAA® Exam is designed to assess a candidate's expertise and skills in real assets, focusing on competency rather than relative performance. The RPII sets the Minimum Passing Score to account for variations in each candidate's testing experience and the difficulty of the exam content. This approach ensures that the rigor and public trust in CRAA® certification are maintained. To uphold the integrity and value of the CRAA® certification and to prevent candidates and professionals from "teaching to the test," RPII does not officially release the Minimum Passing Score.

While the Minimum Passing Score is not disclosed, academic research, public feedback, and industry consensus generally support that consistent scores above 70% are a reasonable indicator of topic mastery.
