Norm Miller is Professor Emeritus, Former Ernest W. Hahn Chair of Real Estate Finance at University of San Diego School of Business and is affiliated with the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate. Prior to University of San Diego School of Business, Norm served as Academic and Real Estate Center Director at University of Cincinnati and had one-year visits at DePaul University and University of Hawaii, and three years at the University of Georgia, where he started his career. Norm has published a vast number of academic research papers, books, and articles for trade publications on housing, brokerage, mortgage risk, valuation, forecasting sustainable real estate, workplace trends, and many other topics. Norm is active on the Editorial Board of several national/international journals and is a past President of the American Real Estate Society (ARES). Known for his pioneering work on the economics of green and sustainable real estate, Norm is the founding editor of the Journal of Sustainable Real Estate and is currently Editor Emeritus. His book, Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Investment, co-authored with David Geltner of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Jim Clayton of York University and Pete Eichholtz of Maastricht University, is in its third edition and is the leading graduate real estate textbook in the world. Norm is a faculty and board member of Hoyt Institute and President of Real Property and Infrastructure Institute. Norm is a recipient of a vast number of awards, including the James A. Graaskamp Award given by the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) for research excellence and the NAIOP Impact Award. Norm received a PhD in Finance from The Ohio State University.
